Tennessee Titans is an American professional football team that is based in Nashville, Tennessee. The team competes as a member of the American Football Conference (AFC) South Division in the National Football League (NFL). The franchise was established on August 3, 1959. The team started playing in 1960 in Houston, Texas, as they were established as Houston Oilers. The Titans joined the NFL as a part of the AFL-NFL merger that happened in 1970. The team now plays its home games in Nissan Stadium in Nashville. Throughout the club history, the franchise has played the only Super Bowl that was at the end of the 1999 NFL Season. The franchise is owned by KSA Industries, whereas Jon Robinson performs his duties as a general manager, and Susie Adams Smith, along with Amy Adams Strunk is part of the chairman cabinet.
The official color theme for the Tennessee Titans uniform is white, red, silver, navy, and titans blue. Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, and Jacksonville Jaguars are the long-standing rivalries for the Titans. Their divisional rivals are Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Buffalo Bills. The team has won two overall league championships, including AFL championships in 1960 and 1961. In 1999, they won their only conference championship that is the 1999 AFC season. The Titans have also won nine division championships. T-Rac performs as an official mascot for the Tennessee Titans.
The Titans have inducted several players into their Hall of Fame list. Some of them are Bruce Mathews (2007), Curley Culp (2013), Ken Houston (1986), John Henry Johnson (1987), Warren Moon (2006), Elvin Bethea (2003), Dave Casper (2002), along with several other players as well.
