Boston Bruins Information
The Boston Bruins are Boston-based professional ice hockey team from division Atlantic. They are members of the Eastern Conference’s Atlantic division of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Boston Bruins is said to be the third oldest team in the league overall while it is the oldest in the entire U.S. TD Garden is the home arena for the team. It is also the part of Original Six franchise, including Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Montreal Canadiens.
Founded in the year 1924, the Boston Bruins have a black and gold uniform theme. The team played their very first NHL game against Maroons (their expansion cousins) at Boston Arena. The mascot for the team is an anthropomorphic bear named Blades the Bruin. "Nutty" is a song created by taking inspiration from the “The Nutcracker” (e Boston Ballet's annual Christmas performance), which was selected as the team song. The franchise also has separate goals and intro songs.
The Boston Bruins has several inductees when it comes to the Hockey Hall of Fame. The list includes 51 former players along with seven sports builders. The six of the individuals that are stated as builders by the Hall of Fame are general managers, head coaches, owners, and executives for the team. Fred Cusick, a play-by-play announcer, was awarded the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award for the Hall of Fame's inauguration in 1984.
