Atlanta Hawks Information
The Atlanta Hawks is one of the American National professional basketball team which is based in Atlanta, Georgia. The team competes as a member of the Eastern Conference Southeast Division of the league in the National Basketball Association (NBA). State Farm Arena serves as the home venue of the Hawks. Some of the former home arenas are Georgia Dome, Omni Coliseum, Alexander Memorial Coliseum, and a few more. The team was founded in 1947 and is under the ownership of Tony Ressler. The Hawks were originated as Buffalo Bisons (Buffalo, New York). Later, the team was renamed to Tri-Cities Blackhawks, Milwaukee Hawks, St. Louis Hawks, and finally to its current name.
The Hawks joined NBA in 1949, and in 1958, the team won its one and only NBA Championship. It also won 4 Western Conference titles and 5 Division titles. It currently owns the second-longest drought, which is for not being able to win 60 NBA Championship seasons. The current uniform theme of the Hawks is comprised of volt green, Georgia granite gray, and torch red colors. The official mascot of the team is Harry the Hawk assisted by the venerable Skyhawk.
The team members who are inducted into the Basketball Hall of Famers are Ed Macauley, Cliff Hagan, Bob Houbregs, Lenny Wilkens, Dominique Wilkins, and many more. Toni Kukoc was inducted to FIBA Hall of Famers.
