The Los Angeles Chargers are one of the professional American football teams that are based in the Greater Los Angeles area. The team was founded 60 years ago on August 14, 1959, and played its first season in the year 1960. The Chargers compete as a club member of the West Division of AFC in the NFL. The franchise is headquarters in Costa Mesa, California, and plays its home games in SoFi Stadium. Some of the former home fields for the Chargers are Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (1960), Balboa Stadium (1961–1966), SDCCU Stadium (1967–2016), and Dignity Health Sports Park (2017–2019). The team was previously known as San Diego Chargers.
The Chargers are under the ownership of Dean Spanos, who is also the chairman of the team. Tom Telesco is the general manager of the club. The team has won one League Championship; AFL Championships (pre-1970 AFL–NFL merger) in 1963, one Conference Championship (AFC: 1994), and fifteen Division Championships (AFL Western: 1960, 1961, 1963, 1964, 1965 and NFL: 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1992, 1994, 1995, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2013, 2018).
The official uniform theme of the Chargers is powder blue, gold, white, and navy blue. The official fight song of the Chargers is "San Diego Super Chargers." The team has one coach and eight players inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, including; Ron Mix, Larry Little, Fred Dean, Junior Seau, Dan Fouts, and a few more. Some of the players added to the San Diego Hall of Champions are Hadl, Joiner, Coryell, Gillman, Winslow, Faison, Benirschke, Lincoln, and a few more.
