Buffalo Bills Information
The Buffalo Bills are one of the professional American football team that is based in the Buffalo–Niagara Falls metropolitan area. The team competes as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) East division league in the National Football League (NFL). The current home field of the Buffalo Bills is New Era Field in Orchard Park, New York, while War Memorial Stadium was the former home field. The team is said to be the only one that plays its home games in the New York state.
The Buffalo Bills began playing as one of the original franchises of AFL in the year 1960. For the 1970 season, the team joined NFL due to the merging of the AFL–NFL. The team is under the ownership of Terry and Kim Pegula since October 8, 2014. It is said to possess the longest active playoff drought among four major professional sports in North America.
The official uniform theme of the Bills is royal blue, red, white, and navy blue. The original colors of the team were Honolulu blue, silver, and white with silver helmets without any logo. The uniform of the Bills was also used outside the football in 2018 at World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. The official mascot of the club is Billy Buffalo. It is an eight-foot-tall, anthropomorphic blue American bison who is sighted in a jersey "number" BB. The Bills currently lack any cheerleaders.
The official fan organization of the Buffalo Bills is stated to be the Bills Backers and Bills Mafia (a collection of Bills fans organized via Twitter since 2010). The three retired number s of the Bills are No. 34 for Thurman Thomas, No. 12 for Jim Kelly, and No. 78 for Bruce Smith. Some of the players that received Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Distinguished Service Award is; Booker Edgerson, Roland Hooks, Paul Maguire, Russ Brandon, and many others. Several other players have been inducted in the Buffalo Bills Wall of Fame and Pro Football Hall of Fame.
