Tampa Bay Buccaneers is an American professional football team that is based in Tampa, Florida. The team competes as a member of the National Football Conference (NFC) West Division in the National Football League (NFL). They joined the NFL in 1976 along with the Seattle Seahawks. The franchise was established on April 24, 1974. They played their first season of the American Football Conference as a part of the expansion plan. The Buccaneers play their home games at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Glazer Family owns the club whereas Bryan Glazer, Edward Glazer, and Joel Glazer are the part of the chairman cabinet whereas Jason Licht acts as a general manager.
The official color theme for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers uniform is pewter, buccaneer red, bay orange, and black. Until the 13th week of their second season, the Buccaneers could not win a single game. The Bucs were the only team from 1976 that went winless in the Super Bowl championship. Their first win came into their luck in December 1977 while playing against the New Orleans Saints. After one more week, the team achieved its second victory against the St. Louis Cardinals in the finale. Both losing teams fired their head coaches after their defeat from the Buccaneers. Captain Fear plays its role as an official mascot for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won its only Super Bowl Championship in 2002, and the same year, the NFC league was also won by the team. The Bucs have won six division championships including NFC Central (1979, 1981, and 1999) and NFC South (2002, 2005, and 2007). The team has inducted a few players into their hall of fame including Randall McDaniel (2009), Warren Sap (2013), Steve Young (2005), and a few other players.
