Born on the 10th of October, 1958 Tanya Denise Tucker is an American country singer. At the age of 13, she had her first hit with the song “Delta Dawn” in 1972. She has had numerous successful albums with songs such as “Lizzie Rainman” & “What’s Your Mama’s Name?” in 1975 and 1988’s “Strong Enough to Bend” being some of her most popular renditions. Impressed by the talent of Tanya Tucker, Mel Tellis invited her to perform alongside him. Being a wise person, she started her own recording label in 2002 to retain the rights of her creativity.
Accolades have piled in droves for her as she was declared as one of the 100 Greatest Country Singers of All Time in the very prestigious magazine Rolling Stone. Tanya Tucker has appeared as a judge on the show Dance Fever in 1979. She also starred in her own reality show which ran for two seasons. It was called Tuckerville TLC and ran from 2005. Tanya Tucker’s “Delta Dawn” and “Would you lay with me?” were nominated for Grammys in 1973 for the Best Female Country Vocal Performance. Tanya Tucker is set to release a new album called “While I’m Livin’ ” in 2019.
