The venue has a seating capacity of 3,050 people at a time. It was opened to the general public in the 1970s. The center is operated by Mid-Hudson Civic Center. The center includes the Mair Hall that serves as a concert and convention hall ( seating capacity of 3,050) along with the McCann Ice Arena which is an ice skating venue. It is a dual-venue that is a private, not-for-profit community organization crafted to offer cultural, recreational, and educational opportunities to the Hudson Valley.
The dual-venue hosted a variety of events such as recreational and competitive figure skating and ice hockey, open ice slots, group and private lessons, public skating sessions, private parties, wrestling games, and much more.
