Since the Disney movie ‘Frozen’ was released in 2013, it has created quite a buzz. The film was a breakthrough on many levels, showcasing the love between two sisters, Elsa and Anna, and moving away from the stereotype of a “Prince Charming” coming to save the “Princess” from her problems. Frozen the Musical is based on the musical book by Jennifer Lee, the director of the Disney movie. Princess Elsa is the next in line to be crowned the Queen of Arendelle. She possesses cryo-kinetic magic powers where she can create snow with her bare hands. The plot develops around the events that take place and the mishaps that occur due to the magic she possesses. Her sister Princess Anna is the first unfortunate victim of those mishaps. The musical is enacted in two Acts.
Directed by the Tony-winning director, Micheal Grandage, Frozen the Musical is a hit Broadway musical which, when in New York, is usually performed in the legendary St. James’ Theatre. The music and lyrics are given by Kristen Anderson-Lopez & Robert Lopez. In fact, currently Frozen the musical is playing in New York at St. James’ Theatre from August 29th to September 14th, and at Infinite Energy Theatre in Duluth, Georgia.
