The Coastal Carolina football team plays their home games at Brooks Stadium. In the late 1990s, it was announced by the Coastal Carolina University that it would establish a football team for the upcoming years. The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers' first inaugural football season was played in Brooks Stadium in 2003.
David Bennett was the first head coach of the team from 2003 to 2011. The present head coach of the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers is Jamey Chadwell, who was appointed to the post in the year 2019. Coastal Carolina has won seven Conference Championships in the following years: 2004, 2005, 2006, 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2014.
