The football team of Boston College is one of the six Major College football teams in New England as classified by the National Collegiate Athletic Association(NCAA). As of 2019, the team's current head coach is Steve Addazio. It is currently his 6th season as the head coach of the team since 2013. The season of 1940 was apparently the greatest year in the Boston College Football history. The team's first official head coach was Jim Miller. He served as the Boston College Eagles Team coach for approximately five years.
One of the best and the most famous player of the team was, Glen Foley. Foley even won The Big East Offensive Player of the Year in 1993. The other famous players are Mathias Kiwanuka, Brian Toal, Matt Ryan, Mark Herzlich, Luke Kuechly and many more. The Eagles Football team won the 1941 Sugar Bowl over Tennessee. The team also won the Conference Championship in 2004 against North Carolina. Three former coaches and seven former players of the Boston team have been inducted into the Hall of Fame of college football.
