They started as a Boards of Canada inspired solo project but ended up being a highly successful touring group. They have many Billboard chart-topping albums under their belt.
Their first release Past is Prologue was recorded independently by Scott Hansen. In the following years, the music produced by Tycho became more organic, focused. They started to incorporate more guitar melodies and playing out like complete electronic dream pop songs rather than extended mood pieces. After working independently, Tycho signed to Ghostly International in the year 2006. Along with that they have released music with Gammaphone records and Merck Records.
