Stone Temple Pilots formed in the year 1989. Led Scot Weiland as the lead vocalist, Dean DeLeo as the guitarist, Rober DeLeo as the bassist and backing vocalist, and Eric Kretz as the drummer are a California based rock band. For a long time, the line up of the group remained steady and did not change, up until 2013. The lineup finally changed when Weiland got fired. Chester Bennington, the lead vocalist of one of the most famous bands - Linkin Park, joined to fill the void that Weiland had left behind. However, his inclusion in the band was very short-lived because he left the group as he wanted to concentrate solely on Linkin Park.
After their formation in 1989, the band, earlier known as Mighty Joe Young changed its name to Stone Temple Pilots upon signing the record label Atlantic Records. The group then released its first album called Core which was a huge commercial success. This made the band become one of the most commercially successful bands. The album reached sales of 18 million copies in the USA and 22 million more all over the world. Songs like Plush, Interstate Lovesong, creep and many others make the band a must-hear for everyone.
