This American Punk Rock band hails from the unforgiving streets of Fullerton, California. It came into existence in 1978 when Mike Ness, the vocalist and lead guitarist of the band got inspired by the works of punk rock pioneers The Sex Pistols and rock legends The Rolling Stones and formed the band. He found his band-members in Casey Royer, Tom Corvin, and Mark Garrett. But the band went through a series of Social Distortion member changes with Ness being the only constant, and now the line-up consists of Jonny Wickersham, Brent Harding, David Hidalgo Jr. and David Kalish.
Over the ages the band has worked with major labels, has released 4 albums and did many cross country and continental tours. There was a gap during the mid 80s as Mike Ness was facing his own demons in the form of drug abuse. However they jumped back during the late 80s and found mainstream success with timeless Social Distortion songs like, “Story of my Life”, “Ball and Chain”, “Ring of Fire” (a cover of the Johnny Cash song), and many other classics.
