Slayer Information
They are one of the ‘BIG 4’ of Thrash Metal movement that rose from the Underground music scenes of America. They are an answer to all the mainstream “Posers” (as they say) the other three bands being Megadeth, Metallica, and Anthrax. Slayer is known for its controversial lyrical content like torture, death, genocide, human experimentation, religion, etc. Heavy hitting and fast sound that was unheard of, that went on to define them, influenced the generations to come.
These Thrash Metal pioneers have been on the road blowing minds and selling off arenas since 1981. The band includes Tom Area (Bassist and Vocalist), Kerry King (Guitarist) and Jeff Hanneman (Guitarist) who joined forces to bring their bold yet creative ideas to life. Then Dave Lombardo (Drummer), also known as the ‘Father of Double Bass’ joined hands to compliment heavy guitar riffs and powerful screams. Since then, they have released 12 albums most of which were delayed or censored due to explicit content that inflicted direct controversies, but at the same time, were seen as monumental works in Metal Society. Their 3rd album ‘Reign in Blood’ is a thrash metal classic and is one of the most massive thrash metal albums released to date.
