Maroon 5 was formed by Adam Levine, Carmichael, Madden, and Ryan Dussick while they were still in high school. The band was initially known as Kara's Flower in 1994. The band is composed of its lead vocalist Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael - keyboardist and guitarist, bassist Madden, drummer Matt Flynn, lead guitarist James Valentine, and multi-instrumentalist Sam Farrar. The band is popularly known as a pop-rock band. After the release of their independent album, 'We like Digging', the band signed their contract with Reprise Records. Maroon 5s second album 'It won't be soon before long' was released on May 2007 and debuted at number one of Billboard 100. One of Maroon 5s single 'Makes Me Wonder’ reached number one on Billboard Hot 100 Singles.
Maroon 5s popular song Sugar surpassed 3 billion views on Youtube as of 2019, making Maroon 5 the first band to achieve this accomplishment. Their third album' Hands All Over Me' includes their all-time hit song 'Moves like a Jagger’ featuring Christina Aguilera. In 2011 the band performed at the Super Bowl.
This album of Maroon 5 debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200. The album' Hands All Over Me' received diverse views from critics. Maroon 5 won their first AMA for Favorite Pop band/duo/group at the American Music Awards, 2011. On January 13th, 2019, the lead singer Adam Levine revealed that the band is working on their 6th album and that it will be released in November.
