Christoper Joseph Isaak, born on June 26, 1956, in Stockton, California, began his musical career after graduating from college in 1981 when he formed his first band, the Silvertone. In 1995, Chris signed a contract with Warner Bros. Records and soon after released his first album, also called Silvertone.
In 1986 he released another self-titled album, which made it to the Billboard Top 200. With his second album, Chris became a force in the R&B genre to reckon with. He got a renewed contract with Waner Bros. in 1988 and they moved him to their Reprise Records label. The following year he released another album Heart Shaped World which had the track Wicked Game. The song he later became best-known for singing.
Most of Isaak’s songs revolve around love, loss, and heartbreak. In his four decades musical career, Isaak has earned a total of 12 studio albums, a couple of awards nominations and world tours. His fans also refer to his as the Roy Orbison of the 90s and often compare him to Elvis Presley, Duane Eddy, and Ricky Nelson. In 2001, he starred in his own TV show The Chris Isaak Show which aired from March 2001 to March 2004 in the cable television network Showtime in the U.S.
