Chicago Theatre, which is formerly known as the Balaban and Katz Chicago Theatre, is located at 175 N. State Street, Chicago, Illinois, United States. In 1921, the founders of the Balaban and Katz theatre Sam and Morris Katz, together with Abe and Barney Balaban, built the Chicago theatre as one of the large motion picture houses. In 1922, Balaban and Katz promoted the live Jazz, which they named as a “Syncopation Week.” Ronald Reagan also announced his engagement to Jane Wyman at the Chicago Theatre. The Theatre has a famously renowned grand Wurlitzer pipe organ that was installed. It is said that this organ pipe could imitate the instruments of an orchestra.
