The Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie (originally known as the “Texas ShowPlace”) is a concert hall located at 1001 Performance PI, Grand Prairie, Texas. The theatre was opened in February 2002 with a seating capacity of 6,350 people at a time. The Verizon Theatre is owned by the City of Grand Prairie and operated by AEG Live. It was built for the theatrical performances and house concerts for the Dallas-Fort Worth Area. In February 2010, naming-rights of the arena were acquired by the Verizon Wireless, and since then the venue renamed itself as the Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie.
The venue has hosted some family shows and Broadway productions since its inauguration which include The Doodlebops Live!, Sesame Street Live, Yo Gabba Gabba Live!. The arena has honored itself with the performances of various great stars such as Gorillaz, Paramore, Justin Bieber, American Idols Live! Tour 2014, Janet Jackson, Fifth Harmony, Barenaked Ladies, Demi Lovato, Jimmy Eat World, Toni Braxton, Jennifer Hudson, Arctic Monkeys, The Smashing Pumpkins, ZZ Top, Roger Daltrey, David Gray, and many more.
