The Silverstein Eye Centers Arena is a multi-purpose arena which is located at 19100 E Valley View Parkway, Independence, Missouri. The venue was opened on 7th November 2009 with a construction cost of $60 million. It has since become a premier destination for live sports and entertainment. The arena has a seating capacity of 5,800 people. The Silverstein Eye Centers Arena is under the ownership of the City of Independence and operated by Global Spectrum. Sink Combs Dethlefs designed the architecture of the venue. The Silverstein Eye Centers Arena is the home to Kansas City Phantoms indoor football team and the Kansas City Comets indoor soccer team. It serves as the administrative offices and home arena for Kansas City Mavericks in the ECHL.
The Silverstein Eye Centers Arena hosts more than 100 events every year, with a vast spectrum of its events including festivals, professional sporting events, trade shows, community events, concerts, and its primary tenant, Kansas City Mavericks events.
