Utica Comets at Lehigh Valley Phantoms
The PPL Center is a sports arena which is located at 701 Hamilton Street, Allentown, Pennsylvania. The venue was opened on September 10, 2014, and has a seating capacity of 8,420 (9,046 with standing room) (Hockey), 10,500 (Concerts), 8,500 (Indoor Football). The arena is owned by the City of Allentown and operated by Global Spectrum. Architect of the building was designed by the Sink Combs Dethlefs.
The arena hosts the one local minor league sports team, Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League. It was home to the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks which is an indoor football team. They played four seasons in this arena from 2015-2018. The PPL Center has also hosted an NHL preseason game “Flyers in the Valley” every year since 2016. Also, since 2016, it has hosted the Allentown indoor race, a midget car racing which is the event of Indoor Auto Racing Championship Series. The Eagles and Tom Petty performed here in 2014. Pitbull performed here in 2016, and Elton John performed in 2018. Also in 2018, NCAA Division | Men’s Ice Hockey Regionals played at this place.
