The Wells Fargo Center is a multi-purpose arena located at 3601 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The center opened its doors to the public on August 13, 1996. The venue has a seating capacity of around 20,478 (Basketball), 19,306 (Hockey), and 17,597 (Arena Football). The arena is owned by Comcast Spectacor and operated by Global Spectrum. The architecture of the Wells Fargo Center was designed by Ellerbe Becket.
Wells Fargo Center is home to the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers and the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers. The private concert of Ray Charles was held at the CoreStates Center on August 13, 1996. It was the concert where a crowd attendance of around 12,000 was recorded. The inaugural show of the arena featured Oasis, The Manic Street Preachers, and The Screaming Trees. Also, the Guns N' Roses performed at the Well Fargo Center on December 6, 2002, during its Chinese Democracy Tour. The arena was also the part-time home venue to the Philadelphia Phantoms of the America Hockey League (AHL) and full-time venue to the Philadelphia Wings that is the original franchise of the NLL. The Wells Fargo Center hosts hundreds of concerts throughout the year.
