Orpheum Theatre is located at 910 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. This theatre was opened on 16th October 1921 and had a capacity of 2,579 people at a time. The venue is under the ownership of the Hennepin Theatre Trust and operated by the Historic Theatre Group. The theatre is one of the four restored theaters on Hennepin Avenue including the State Theatre, Pantages Theatre, and the Shubert Theatre. It was initially known by the name of the Hennepin Theater. The theatre premiered many musicals including The 101 Dalmatians Musical and the Lion King.
The architectural style of the venue is Beaux-Arts, which was designed by Kirchoff, Roger; et al. The theatre underwent renovations in 1993 and was reopened in the same year. Some popular entertainments held at this theatre are Crowded House, John Prine, Morning Constitutions, Mamma Mia!, Barenaked Ladies, Brian Wilson, etc.
