North Carolina State Wolfpack at Oklahoma Sooners Womens Basketball
The Lloyd Noble Center is a multi-purpose arena which is located at 2900 Jenkins Avenue, Norman, Oklahoma. It has a seating capacity of 11,562 people at a time. The venue was inaugurated on October 27, 1975, with a construction cost of $6 million. It underwent renovation in the year 2001. The architecture of the arena is designed by the Sorey, Hill & Sorey while the renovation designing was done by Ellerbe Becket. The center currently serves home to Oklahoma Sooners men's and women's basketball teams (NCAA DI) since the year 1975. The venue is named in honor of a Houston oilman and philanthropist, who is also the founder of the Noble Corporation as well as the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation named as, Samuel Lloyd Noble (1896–1950).
The Lloyd Noble Center is primarily a concert venue that is capable of having around 2,848 and 4,516 in a theater arrangement, and for end-stage concerts, it can hold up to 6,165 along with 11,238 for center-stage concerts. It also hosts trade shows. Some notable events held at this venue are the recording of half of the album by Amy Grant including In Concert and In Concert Volume Two, Sooner basketball, etc.
