The El Rey Theatre is a live music venue located at 5515 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, California. The theatre was built and opened to the general public in 1936. The arena has a seating capacity of 771 people. AEG Live owns the theatre while Clifford A. Balch designed the architecture of the venue. In the back of the setting, there is a VIP balcony for spectators. The genre of the theatre is Rock and Roll.
The El Rey Theatre was accentuated as the main ambiance of Cowboy Junkies’ song ‘’Angel Mine’’ music video, featuring Janeane Garofalo from their album Lay It Down in 1995. The exterior of the venue was featured in the movie Night of The Comet in 1984. The theatre was also featured as an exclusive partial concert of comedy rock band The Aquabats in January 2008.
