Eastern Michigan University Convocation Center is located at 799 North Hewitt Road, Ypsilanti, Michigan. The venue is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment complex with a seating capacity of 8,824 and 8 Executive suites. It is under the ownership of Eastern Michigan University and is operated by the owner. The architect of the center is designed by Rossetti Architects. It was opened to the general public on December 9, 1998, with a construction cost of $29.6 million. The complex is home to EMU athletics along with hosting a wide variety of events such as concerts, graduations, conferences, trade shows, political rallies, fairs, and much more.

The main facility of the complex comprises of three levels; arena, concourse, and office. The largest seating capacity is for the center-stage entertainment activities region which is 9,500 seats and for basketball games, it is approximately 8,800. There are rentable spaces, atrium, arena floor, dressing rooms, and Eagle’s Nest.

A basketball match accompanied the inauguration of the complex in December 1998. It also has many other basketballs, volleyball, gymnastics and wrestling matches, and different championships since then. The EMU Center has had many other fund-raising events, conferences, and awareness programs. Some notable events that took place here are finals of WNBA 2008, the graduation of the EMU class of 2000, and concerts by Bob Seger, Bernie Sanders, Ellie Goulding, The Killers, Tiesto, St. Joseph Charity Ball, etc.
