The Fillmore Detroit is a multi-purpose entertainment venue. It is located at Woodward Ave, Detroit, Michigan. It was formerly known as the State Theatre and Palms Theatre. The arena was built and opened for the general public on October 29, 1925. It underwent renovations in the years 2007 and 2018 and was reopened on June 13, 2007. The Fillmore has a seating capacity of about 2,888 people at a time. The architect named C designed the building. Howard Crane. The concert hall is under the ownership and is operated by Live Nation. The Fillmore building is twelve stories high, and it has an eight-story auditorium. The Fillmore consists of three levels of seating and a Grand Lobby. It also has a State Bar and Grill which has a separate entrance. It is opened to the public when the venue is not hosting any events or concerts.
The concert hall is currently in use for concerts, popular music acts, hosting, and other variety of events and shows. The Fillmore Detroit has hosted a variety of shows, events, and concerts. The Detroit Music Awards are held at the venue annually. The singing reality television program American Idol organized one session at the Fillmore.
