The Orpheum Theatre Madison is located at 216 State St, Madison, Wisconsin. It was opened to the public on March 21, 1927, with a construction cost of $750,000. The theater was nearly burnt to ashes on December 19, 2014.
The Orpheum theater sponsors the yearly Madison Independent Film Festival. The building of this musical theatre was the first air-conditioned building in Wisconsin. The Orpheum Theatre was added to the National Register of Historic Places listings on January 23, 2008.
