The Leon’s Centre is an indoor stadium located at 1 The Tragically Hip Way, Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The center was opened to the public on February 22, 2008, with a seating capacity of around 5,614 (Hockey), 6,800 (End Stage Concert), and 3,200 (Theatre). The center is owned by the City of Kingston and operated by SMG Canada ULC. The architecture of the arena was designed by Brisbin Brook Beynon Architects (BBB Architects).
The Tragically Hip performed at the arena on February 23, 2008, which was the inaugural concert. On August 20, 2016, they played the final show of their Man Machine Poem Tour. Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, also attended this concert. Some famous artists who have performed at the arena are Willie Nelson, Brooks and Dunn, Bryan Adams, Elton John, Neil Young, Billy Talent, Carrie Underwood, and Leonard Cohen. The first sporting event of the arena took place on February 22, 2008, which was played by Kingston Frontenacs. On October 28-31, 2010, the centre hosted the event of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating “2010 Skate Canada International”.
