A multi-purpose sports and entertainment center, the Columbus Civic Center is located in Columbus, Georgia. This state of the art center has 23,000 square feet of flat floor space, 10,000 seating capacity, and 5,000 square feet of hospitality suites. It is a home of the professional sports franchise: the Southern Indoor Football League's Columbus Lions and the Chattahoochee Valley Sports Hall of Fame. The Columbus Civic Center is looked after by the Advisory Board which consists of 11 members.
Every year, the Columbus Civic Center hosts over 300 event days which include conventions, fairs, ice shows, basketball, arena football, hockey, concerts, conferences, private parties, and receptions.
This center is also known as The South Commons Sports and Entertainment Complex. The center has Memorial Stadium, South Commons Softball Complex, a 4,500-seat baseball stadium, an eight-field softball venue with a 2,500-seat softball stadium, a 13,000-seat football stadium, and Golden Park.
Apart from that the center also hosted the concerts of famous artists such as KISS (in 1997), Kelly Clarkson (in 2009), and Lady Antebellum (in 2012). The Columbus Civic Center also held many professional wrestling events which include WCW Monday Nitro (in 1996) and World Wrestling Entertainment's Friday Night Smackdown (in 2006 and 2014).
