The Garrett Coliseum is an arena that is used for multi-purposes. It is located at 1555 Federal Dr, Montgomery, Alabama. The arena opened its doors for the general public in 1951 after the name of W.W. Garrett who was the first chairman of the Alabama Agricultural Board. It has a seating capacity of around 12,500 people at a time. The Coliseum is owned and operated by the Alabama Department of Agriculture. The architecture of the Garrett Coliseum was designed by Sherlock, Smith, and Adams.
This place is home to the Alabama National Fair. The very first concert which took place at the venue was performed by Hank Williams. The arena hosts multiple kinds of events every year along with providing all the necessary facilities inside. The Garrett Coliseum was also a former home to the Montgomery Bears of the American Indoor Football Association from the year 2005 until 2007. It also serves as the home venue for the Official State horse show which is held at the Coliseum annually. Some famous artists that performed at the arena are Elvis Parsley, Elton John, Kenny Chesney.
