The Oklahoma Civic Center Music Hall is located at 201 North Walker Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States. It is a performing arts center that was constructed in 1937 as Municipal Auditorium. Later it got renamed in 1966. This performing arts center is a complex of the Freede Little Theatre, Thelma Gaylord Performing Arts Theatre, Meinders Hall of Mirrors, Joel Levine Rehearsal Hall, and the CitySpace. The capacity of this music hall is as follows: Thelma Gaylord Performing Arts Theatre: 2,477, Freede Little Theatre: 286, CitySpace Theatre: 100. It was opened to the general public on October 4, 1937.
This venue is managed and operated in conjunction with the Rose State Performing Arts Theatre. It is home to Canterbury Choral Society, Nederlander, Lyric Theatre and Academy, Oklahoma City Ballet, Black Liberated Arts Center, Oklahoma City Philharmonic, Oklahoma City Theatre Company, and the Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre (eight professional arts organizations). The hall was closed in 1985 and got reopened after renovations in September 2001. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2016. The architectural work of the building is carried out by Hawk & Parr.
KISS was one of the biggest concerts ever to play the venue which was on their 1976 Alive! Tour. The Oklahoma City Civic Center Music Hall is also home to STARS. It is a volunteer group of more than 300 people who contribute thousands of hours annually.
