The stadium has a seating capacity of 65,000 for football (can be expanded to 70,000) and 78,000 for basketball. It primarily serves present home to the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL) and the annual Quick Lane Bowl college football bowl game. The stadium is under the ownership of the Detroit-Wayne County Stadium Authority and operated by the Detroit Lions.
