The Belasco Theater is a multi-purpose entertainment venue located at 1050 S Hill St, Los Angeles, California. The venue served as a Metropolitan Community Church from 1950 to 1987. It opened on November 11th, 1926, with a seating capacity of 1,601 people. It is under the ownership of Kristina Kim. John A. Walls. Octavius Morgan designed the architecture of the theater. It underwent renovations in 2010-2011 with a renovation cost of around $ 10 million.
Famous actresses Helen Hayes and Tallulah Bankhead hosted successful productions in the venue. The theater also hosted a musical comedy film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. The 2001 shooting of John Travolta movie Swordfish was also in the theater. Little Shop Of Horrors, an American musical horror film will be hosted in the theater on September, 24th, 2019.
The concerts of 2019 include famous bands and singers including Rick Ross, The Water Boys, The Adicts, Angels and Airwaves, The Mountain Goats, DJ Soda, Rata Blanca, Lost Frequencies and Throttle, Sammy Johnson, and many more.
