The Warfield Theater is a music venue which is located at 982 Market Street, San Francisco, California. The concert hall was opened to the general public on May 13, 1922. The Warfield Theater is a famous place for hosting musical events and concerts. The venue was home to the Grateful Dead who performed 15 sold-out shows. About 14 and 12 shows of Bob Dylan's Gospel and A Musical Retrospective Tour were performed at the venue in 1979 and 1980, giving the Warfield a new life. The concert hall also hosted the performance of Guns N' Roses on May 9, 1991. "War at the Warfield" was a home video recorded at the Warfield Theater by a thrash metal band, the Slayer in 2001.
