The Fillmore Detroit is a multi-purpose entertainment venue. It is located at Woodward Ave, Detroit, Michigan. It was formerly known as the State Theatre and Palms Theatre. The arena was built and opened for the general public on October 29, 1925. It underwent renovations in the years 2007 and 2018 and was reopened on June 13, 2007. The Fillmore building is twelve stories high, and it has an eight-story auditorium. The Fillmore consists of three levels of seating and a Grand Lobby. The Detroit Music Awards are held at the venue annually. The singing reality television program American Idol organized one session at the Fillmore.
